You have booked your holidays to Palermo, it’s time to pack your suitcase. You want to take the whole closet with you, but you just have a hand baggage. So, you start surfing on the Web: “weather in Palermo”, “How to dress in Palermo”, “How to fold clothes in the suitcase” and so on with the consultation of various blogs and tutorials that makes you more confused than you already are!
How to dress in Palermo
Whether it’s summer or winter dress up in layers like an “onion”. A sunny day can turn into a fresh day, a rainy day can turn into an ideal day for a walk out Palermo.
If you want a relaxing holiday you’re in the wrong place, if you love adventure you’re in the right place! There is always someone or something ready to twist your plans… Weather conditions, traffic, delays, casual encounters, street food (yes, because the food will tempt you step by step wherever you are!).
We were talking about onion clothing. So here are some useful tips on what to pack:
- Winter: Jacket, sweater, long trousers, umbrella
- Autumn and spring: Jacket, T-shirt, sweater, long summer and winter trousers, umbrella and sunglasses.
- Summer: Swimwear of course, tank tops and shorts, sunglasses, hat and a sweatshirt can always come in handy!
For all seasons comfortable shoes especially if you want to visit the city on your feet. Palermo is wonderful but the maintenance of the roads is not ordinary: stone pavements (already slippery by nature) nonlinear, sudden holes, green not pruned… In short, the stiletto heels will make you spend the day sitting at the bar (an option in any way not to underestimate!).
Things not to forget
You’re not going to a deserted island, so don’t worry if you forget something. From luxury shopping to the second-hand shops, the city is able to offer you anything you need and for all budgets.
Definitely a backpack to carry always with you. It will make you very comfortable to keep the jacket you have placed before you leave, become useless and cumbersome after an hour! Also useful for souvenirs that you will buy during your tours between museums, markets and historical palaces.
Sunscreen for sensitive skin, sunglasses, hat/cap, something able to protect you from the rays of the Sicilian sun during your tours in the city.
A camera. Of course, you can’t travel without a camera, wherever you go. But if you are in Sicily is a must. No, they’re not metropolitan legends. The area of Palermo with its 82 municipalities is able to give you breath-taking views, wonderful views and unique emotions.
Reserve at least half the space of your luggage for the typical products that you will take on your return trip!
Palermo, Monreale, Cefalù, from the hinterland to the coasts let yourself be surprised by the wonders of Palermo.
